Sunday Serenity: A Walk in Nature

It’s Thanksgiving weekend in these parts and my loyal collie, Reilly, and I are enjoying short walks in nature. The spectacular colour show is particularly heartwarming this year given the times in which we live.

So we lose ourselves to the wonder of it and give thanks for its beauty. After a virtual plague of caterpillars in the spring that decimated the foliage on many of the trees around here it’s reassuring to see how resilient nature is.

Humanity could learn a thing or two from that.

Happy Thanksgiving … 🍁❤️

Flower Power

Vibrant

Weekly Photo Challenge: Vibrant

Every living thing carries a vibration.

The higher the vibration, the more power it has to lift our spirits and provide feelings of happiness.

Flowers have such a power. We give flowers to lift the spirits of another, or to convey our affection. Their vibrant colour and fragrance (for those that have one) evoke feelings of well being and memories past.

When I consider these dahlias I recall precious moments spent in my grandmother’s fragrant garden filled with such flowers. Happy memories. Good vibrations.

Flower power.

Extraordinary Light

Extraordinary Light

~*~

We have had the most spectacular autumn. The fall colours have been almost iridescent under the canopy of blue sky and brilliant sunshine that has been, for the most part, our weather experience.

The past couple of days have marked a sharp turn in our meteorological fortunes and some areas of Ontario have been under snowfall warnings. Yesterday a dramatic cloud front passed by our farm which, between the fall colours, filtered sun, dark clouds, distant precipitation and partial double rainbow produced the most extraordinary light.

Is there anything more extraordinary than the moods of Mother Nature?
