Weekly Photo Challenge: Future Tense … Sailor’s Delight

Night Fall

“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight.”

This week’s Photo Challenge asks us to interpret the “Future Tense.”

This particular image, taken last summer from a moving car while driving south down Hwy 2 just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, holds a double feeling of anticipation.

The sky is aflame with the setting sun, portending night fall and the promise, according to the lore, of a beautiful day to follow.

Silhouetted against the sun are the tails of aircraft awaiting their moment to sail through the skies to far-off places of which any one of us might dream.

Thanks for visiting …

Dorothy 🙂
